About the course

Microsoft Excel is the most commonly used analytics, reporting and strategy software. This course will equip the participants with data analytical skills using Excel’s features. The participants will be taught some statistical concepts on how to get insights from data and take data driven decisions using Excel.

The participant will also acquire skills in Excel pivots and their use to summarize data in flexible ways, enabling quick exploration of data and producing valuable insights from the accumulated data. The course will also include Power BI, which is the latest and the best tool provided by Microsoft for analytics and data visualization.

• Direct Queries and Analysis

• Loading data to a power query

• Design and filtering in power queries

• Working with metadata

• Working with unpivot

• Introduction to custom functions

• Merging queries and data cleansing

Module 3: Data Modeling in Power Bi

• Creating, understanding and managing relationships in models

• Checking for problems in relationships in models

• Working with the relationship editor

• Know how to fix data quality

• Using Bridge Tables

• Working with Hierarchies

Module 4: Decision making and Risk Management using Power Bi

• Identifying, evaluating, and managing Business risks

• Working with the Risk assurance platform in Power Bi

Module 5: Creating HR Dashboards and Reports in Power Bi

• Introduction to data index and page layouts

• Learn how to group data and understand the Bradford Factor

• Develop operational dashboards including Business KPI’s

• Use pivot tables and pivot charts to efficiently perform automated report writing and analysis

Methodology

This instructor led training course is delivered using a blended learning approach and comprises of presentations, guided sessions of practical exercise, web based tutorials and group work. Our facilitators are seasoned industry experts with years of experience, working as professional and trainers in these fields.

All facilitation and course materials will be offered in English. The participants should be reasonably proficient in English.

Accreditation

Upon successful completion of this training, participants will be issued with a certificate of participation.

Training Venue

The training is residential and will be held at the Livecode Training Centre in Westlands, Nairobi, Kenya. The course fee covers the course tuition, training materials, two break refreshments, lunch, and study visits.

All participants will additionally cater for their, travel expenses, visa application, insurance, and other personal expenses.

Training Fees
